On May 8, 2023, Monica Dean, AONN+’s Director of Patient Navigation Program Development, had the opportunity to speak to the first graduating class of Georgia Gwinnett College’s patient navigation degree program. In this piece, she reflects upon the experience.

It was a press release that first alerted me to Georgia Gwinnett College’s patient navigation degree program in 2020. Soon after, I connected with Nina Cleveland, PhD, MPH, BSW, PN, the college’s Chair of Public Health and Patient Navigation, and Assistant Professor of the School of Health Sciences. What a connection to make to build the future of leaders in our professional practice!
