Cheryl Bellomo is a multi–disease-site oncology nurse navigator for the Intermountain Healthcare system. She is a solo navigator serving in community-based care of oncology patients connected to Cedar City Hospital, radiation and medical oncology services, local surgical and primary care physician offices, and a variety of community resources in Cedar City and southwestern Utah. She received her degree in nursing at St. Vincent Charity School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio, and undergraduate bachelor of science degree in nursing and master’s degree in nursing education from Western Governors University.
Cheryl has been a member of the Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators (AONN+) since 2011. She was a team member for the creation of the Oncology Nurse Navigator–Certified Generalist (ONN-CG) certification. She has served as a team member for the creation of the AONN+ Standardized Metrics and Acuity Tool and as Co-Chair of the AONN+ Evidence into Practice Committee. She is involved in the development of the Cancer Advocacy & Patient Education (CAPE) lung cancer initiative. Cheryl is also a member of the Oncology Nursing Society. She has published and presented nationally on navigation.
