Lillie D. Shockney has worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital and School of Medicine since February 1983. She has held several leadership positions there over the years including serving as the Administrator Director of the Johns Hopkins Breast Center from 1997 through 2018. She earned her 3-year RN diploma from McQueens Gibbs Willis School of Nursing in Easton, Maryland, her BS degree in Healthcare Administration from St Joseph's College in Maine, and her master’s degree in Administrative Science from the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. She is the co-founder of AONN+ and the co-founder of ACCCNN. She launched breast cancer nurse navigation at Johns Hopkins in 1996, promoting and fostering its development across the institution for other oncology patients as well. She is a well-recognized national and international public speaker and author on navigation, survivorship, patient-centered care, end-of-life planning, quality-of-life preservation, palliative care, breast cancer care, and other subjects related to oncology care and research.
