Sharon Gentry is Editor in Chief, Journal of Oncology Navigation & Survivorship® and CONQUER: the journey informed™. She obtained her nursing bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Greensboro, respectively. In the past she has served as a program director for the AONN+ organization, guiding and directing the organization based on agreed-upon strategic plans, goals and objectives that the organization. She was active on the accredited certification for the Foundations of Learning, metrics development and acuity project. She continues to support the Local Navigation Networks actively serves on the Commission on Cancer Accreditation Committee and the Quality Improvement Committee as an AONN+ representative. Ms Gentry travels nationally, lecturing on the navigation concept and has published numerous articles and chapters on the subject. She is on the editorial board for The Oncology Nurse-APN/PA and works with the National Navigation Roundtable Workforce Development group. On the local level, she is an active member of the Piedmont Triad Local Navigation Network and Piedmont Triad Oncology Nursing Society.
